Put your sound in pole position

Whether on small stages, in rehearsal rooms, conference or event environments, the system delivers maximum sound quality and flexibility with minimal effort. The new contour control allows for continuous, precise sound adjustment for any application – from clear speech reproduction to powerful DJ sound. The 24-bit DSP‘s multiband limiter ensures maximum dynamics and a natural, balanced sound even at the highest volumes. The POLAR 8 MK2 column: The column element of the POLAR 8 MK2 features six powerful 2.5“ neodymium speakers in a curved column arrangement. With its wide dispersion angles of 120° x 45°, it ensures even and clear sound distribution, even in difficult or low-ceilinged rooms, as well as for standing and seated audiences, even in the front row. The POLAR 8 MK2 subwoofer: The specially reinforced cabinet minimizes unwanted resonance, ensuring dry, precise bass. The compact 8“subwoofer is easy to handle and convenient to transport.. The integrated mixing console: POLAR 8 MK2 has an integrated 3-channel mixing console (2x mic/line, 1x aux/Bluetooth) with master volume control and Bluetooth 5 audio streaming. Thanks to Bluetooth TWS, two POLAR 8 MK2 s can be connected to a Bluetooth device to form a true stereo system. The new contour control: The intelligent contour control (DJ / Music / Voice) allows the sound to be precisely tuned to the respective application– from powerful music sets to speech-optimized presentations. The stepless adjustment allows for much finer corrections than pure preset solutions. 24-Bit DSP with multiband limiter: The integrated 24-bit DSP guarantees high dynamics, transparency, and detail in every situation. With the multiband limiter, the sound remains balanced and powerful even at maximum volume. It specifically intervenes only in the frequency ranges that actually reach the level limits. This means that the overall sound of the POLAR 8 MK2 remains even and natural even at maximum power – without pumping or distortion.

After a long search, research, comparison, and watching videos and reviews, I knew I wanted a pair of HK Polar 12s. Just then, the MK2 was introduced, and retailers started a small "price war". Musix won (although others were not much more expensive), and they could also deliver immediately. Now, let's talk about the equipment I usually use in pairs: - Reggae DJ party in a loft (old, converted barn) for about 50 guests: The entire space vibrated, the bass was powerful for such a room, and the mids and highs were extremely clear! The DJ and guests had a lot of fun, while a neighbor had less... - Enough for a small rock/pop band at a celebration on August 1st in the community hall. Due to the mixed audience, the volume was set more conservatively. In front of the stage, it rocked, while one could still talk normally at the bar. - The same band outdoors on the lawn in front of a church, about 150 visitors spread out: With an additional 15' subwoofer and two small delays (simple active boxes at about 12m), it was great! Loud enough and pleasant. The lead singer's voice comes through very clearly! - A single tower as a Bluetooth speaker at home: Master volume at -20dB, the subwoofer at around 1/2 to 2/3. This works and sounds surprisingly well! The two Polar 12s alone are not enough for a large Go-Go party, rock night, or heavy metal open-air event, but for smaller to medium-sized events, they are a very good, easy-to-transport solution (a car trunk full). That's why I bought them. They produce a good amount of sound "downwards", and depending on the situation, an additional subwoofer can still be useful. The mids and highs are very precise without needing to make much adjustment. Speech is transmitted very clearly and understandably. Therefore, the system is also suitable for speeches or moderation (although the versions with the small subwoofer are also suitable). Due to the column principle with a relatively large radiating surface, the feedback susceptibility is also relatively low. However, you can achieve this if you really want to. Bluetooth works immediately, but it's not top-notch. There is no AptX, and the range is also not outstanding. However, the sound quality is acceptable. However, I have experienced several dropouts that end in a digital crackling and humming sound. However, this only occurs with my mobile phone; from the PC, it has never happened. But my mobile phone only does this with the HK, not with others. Just re-pair, and it works again. The "TWS" stereo function only works with one Bluetooth source! As soon as you connect with a cable, you cannot pair the second speaker with the first via Bluetooth. This is not as clear in some reviews, but it was logical to me from the beginning. Useful accessories that I also purchased: Two 20m rolls of hybrid cable (power + audio) and one 2m XLR cable to connect to the roll or directly to the speaker, depending on the situation. Two simple furniture rolling carts to move the subwoofers instead of carrying them (they weigh just over 20kg). Conclusion: - Very good sound, especially speech and vocals are very clear - They are very versatile and can be used as a PA front, Bluetooth speaker, and delay line (the delay is built-in, if you don't already have a delayed output at the mixing console) - Unbeatable for the price, at least I don't know anything better currently. - I will not give up my two HK Polar 12 MK2s!
